How 'Les Miz' Should Not Be Sung

Transposed keys, jazz-ed up orchestrations, a rather sprightly tempo, ornamented high notes and frankly just not enough pathos. These guys wouldn't do the same to Puccini, so why did they inflict their 'improvements' on what is already a masterpiece?
